What is the course about?
This course will give you an excellent grounding in the vocational skills and knowledge required for all types of work in the business environment. This varied work-related course is taught by experienced and enthusiastic lecturers in conjunction with external speakers.
All of the units will have a real life business focus. You will also have the opportunity to represent the college by participating in competitions and trips.
Progression onto the Extended Diploma (year 2) is subject to successful completion of the Subsidiary Diploma (part 1) plus 3 additional units.
Part 1: Level 3 Subsidiary diploma in Business (equivalent to 1 A level)

Part 2: BTEC 90 (Leading towards a BTEC Level 3 Diploma)

4 GCSEs at C grade or above (including one B grade)

Each unit is assessed by coursework.

What can the course lead to?
A career in business or finance, or if you decide to go to University or college you could take a degree or HND in subjects such as Business, Marketing or Economics. It could also take you to the next qualification a BTEC Extended Diploma in Business.
Examples and approximate starting salaries of job roles that students on this course may go into include: Account Clerk £12,000 – £16,000, Administrator £12,000 – £16,000, Marketing Assistant £15,000.
